Governing Enterprise AI: The Executive Agenda

AI is moving rapidly from experimentation into the operating fabric of the enterprise.

As adoption expands across teams, applications, models and providers, the challenge is no longer simply how to use AI. It is how to govern it with the same discipline expected of any other strategic business capability.

How do you give the organisation freedom to innovate while maintaining visibility, control and accountability?

On 7 October, Datapao and Databricks will bring together a select group of senior Data, AI and technology leaders at The Newman, London for a private executive roundtable dedicated to this question.

The conversation will bring together perspectives from Maria Zervou, Chief AI Officer at Databricks; Chris Mullan, Head of Data and AI at CFC; and Máté Gulyás, CEO of Datapao.

With attendance limited to approximately 20 guests, the evening is designed for substantive peer exchange rather than presentations: a considered discussion on AI usage, economics, governance and the decisions that will shape enterprise adoption at scale.

What We’ll Explore

The Emerging AI Control Layer

As AI becomes distributed across the organisation, understand why visibility across models, providers, applications and users is becoming an increasingly important executive concern.

The Economics of Enterprise AI

Explore how leaders are approaching AI spend, attribution and accountability as usage moves beyond isolated initiatives and into everyday operations.

Governance Without Friction

Discuss how organisations can introduce appropriate controls around access, models and usage without undermining the speed and autonomy that make AI valuable.

From Experimentation to Enterprise Capability

Consider what needs to change as AI moves from individual projects towards a governed, scalable and sustainable part of the enterprise operating model.

Featured Sessions

Databricks Executive Perspective

The Next Phase of Enterprise AI (Maria Zervou – Chief AI Officer, Databricks)

Maria will bring the Databricks perspective on how enterprise AI is evolving as organisations move from experimentation towards broader adoption.

The discussion will explore why governance, economics and control are becoming increasingly important as AI is embedded across more teams, applications and business processes, and what leaders should be preparing for next.

Customer Executive Perspective

Governing AI in the Real World (Chris Mullan – Head of Data and AI, CFC)

Chris will share the customer perspective on the realities of adopting and governing AI inside the enterprise.

Drawing on CFC’s experience, the conversation will explore how questions around ownership, accountability, cost visibility and governance evolve as AI becomes more widely used across the organisation.

Datapao Perspective

Designing for Governed AI at Scale (Mate Gulyas – CEO of Datapao)

Máté will frame the practical technology and governance decisions organisations need to make as AI becomes a shared enterprise capability rather than a collection of individual initiatives.

The discussion will consider how the right platform foundations can provide greater visibility and control across AI usage without creating unnecessary friction for the teams building and adopting AI.

Executive Roundtable

A Private Peer Discussion

The central part of the evening will be a moderated conversation between attendees.

Rather than a sequence of presentations, the format is designed to create space for senior leaders to compare approaches, challenge assumptions and discuss the questions they are confronting within their own organisations.

Private Wine Tasting

Following the roundtable, guests will continue the conversation over a hosted tasting of six wines in the private setting of The Newman.

An opportunity to connect with fellow leaders in a more informal setting after the discussion.

Who Should Attend?

This roundtable is intended for senior leaders shaping enterprise Data and AI strategy, including:

Chief Data Officers, CIOs and CTOs, Chief AI Officers, VPs and Heads of Data & AI, senior Data Platform leaders, AI Governance leaders and executives responsible for technology transformation.

Participation is intentionally limited to approximately 20 guests to preserve the quality and seniority of the conversation.
